DANCE TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS FOR THE BRIDE & GROOM

Brides and Grooms-to-be: here, find some helpful dance tips and suggestions to help prepare you for your WEDDING DANCE, and to ensure your first dance as husband and wife will be memorable-not only for you, but for your guests and family as well.

SELECT A SONG - Visit our studio and see our unique wedding song list! Choose a song that you enjoy and that feels special to you. It should have an easy beat that you feel comfortable with and enjoy moving to. If you'd like a slow dance, try a Foxtrot or a Waltz. If you're looking for an upbeat feel, you might choose Swing, Salsa-even Tango! If you're not sure where to begin, or would like some suggestions, talk with one of our dance instructors. They'll be more than happy to help you select the right style.

ONCE YOU'VE DECIDED - One of our professional dance instructors will take the time to work with you and create something original. Your dance could be whatever you choose! Looking for something classic? We'll find the right balance of traditional choreography and flair to create a timeless dance. Feeling something more theatrical? Your teacher will create something fun and unique that shows off your individual personality. Whatever your style, you'll have a dance that truly celebrates the event.

PRACTICE YOUR DANCE - Enjoy the process as much as the final event! Get comfortable with the steps, timing, and rhythm of your song. Visit our studio as often as you'd like to polish and practice your moves! Our sound system is easy to access and offers lots of options. We offer such a broad selection of music to practice to, you'll never find yourself bored of the song collection.

Maybe this is a chance for you to step a little outside of your comfort zone. Maybe, you've entertained the thought of performing at your wedding, or just showing off with a few special moves. Either way, the preparation should be just as fun as the event itself-and at Dance Fever Studio, it will be. With the help of our experienced instructors, you'll be thrilled that you went for it!

And, who knows? Chances are, you'll find yourself wanting to keep dancing long after the wedding day is over!

Parent Dance

Parents' support is especially valuable in the process of planning a wedding-why not create a moment in the spotlight for one's mother and father as well? The wonderful tradition of the "Parent Dance" has become especially popular, and with good reason.

This is a chance for the bride and / or groom's parents to share in the celebration, and even surprise their guests! Just as the bride and groom can choose a ballroom or Latin dance to perform a their reception, so can the mother and father. Whether dancing with each other, or with one of the newlyweds (a father-daughter dance, for example!) it's a wonderful way to include other family members in the joyful celebration.

As with the wedding dance, parents of the bride and groom have their choice of the elegant ballroom dances or the fun Latin dances. Ballroom, which comprises the waltz, tango, foxtrot, quickstep, and Viennese waltz, offers an elegant way to take the spotlight. Incorporate a Latin dance-a cha cha, rumba, samba, or jive-and you could just come up with a really fun surprise for your guests! Our talented teachers are enthusiastic about working with the bride and groom and parents alike to create something truly original for the occasion.

When it comes to creating that special dance, there really are no rules; it can be whatever you want it to be! Start the wedding song off with a dance between bride and groom, and have dad cut in to dance with his daughter-or vice versa. Start with a traditional waltz, and end in a lively swing dance. Or, keep it classic and jazzy with an upbeat foxtrot.

Ultimately, it's all about the sharing the experience, especially with family. Don't worry if you've never even attempted a cha cha cha-our ballroom studio welcomes anyone who wishes to learn. We have all the tools you need: experienced teachers, beautiful facilities, and a fantastic music collection. So give us a call and stop in soon! We'll help you make that parent dance truly special.
