DANCE TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS FOR THE BRIDE & GROOM

Brides and Grooms-to-be: here, find some helpful dance tips and suggestions to help prepare you for your WEDDING DANCE, and to ensure your first dance as husband and wife will be memorable-not only for you, but for your guests and family as well.

SELECT A SONG - Visit our studio and see our unique wedding song list! Choose a song that you enjoy and that feels special to you. It should have an easy beat that you feel comfortable with and enjoy moving to. If you'd like a slow dance, try a Foxtrot or a Waltz. If you're looking for an upbeat feel, you might choose Swing, Salsa-even Tango! If you're not sure where to begin, or would like some suggestions, talk with one of our dance instructors. They'll be more than happy to help you select the right style.

ONCE YOU'VE DECIDED - One of our professional dance instructors will take the time to work with you and create something original. Your dance could be whatever you choose! Looking for something classic? We'll find the right balance of traditional choreography and flair to create a timeless dance. Feeling something more theatrical? Your teacher will create something fun and unique that shows off your individual personality. Whatever your style, you'll have a dance that truly celebrates the event.

PRACTICE YOUR DANCE - Enjoy the process as much as the final event! Get comfortable with the steps, timing, and rhythm of your song. Visit our studio as often as you'd like to polish and practice your moves! Our sound system is easy to access and offers lots of options. We offer such a broad selection of music to practice to, you'll never find yourself bored of the song collection.

Maybe this is a chance for you to step a little outside of your comfort zone. Maybe, you've entertained the thought of performing at your wedding, or just showing off with a few special moves. Either way, the preparation should be just as fun as the event itself-and at Dance Fever Studio, it will be. With the help of our experienced instructors, you'll be thrilled that you went for it!

And, who knows? Chances are, you'll find yourself wanting to keep dancing long after the wedding day is over!

For anyone considering taking classes for their wedding dance, we wanted to share our experience.
We had no idea what to expect when we signed up for lessons to prepare a wedding dance. We just knew we wanted it to be fun, upbeat, and a surprise for our family and friends. We had seen all the youtube sensations (you know, the bridal party dancing down the aisle, or the couple that starts out dancing to "Unchained Melody," and then suddenly breaks out into a, shall we say, less-than-gentlemanly group dance (do a search for "Baby Got Back wedding dance"). We wanted ours to be memorable that way, and showcase our kooky personalities (while masking our lack of dance finesse).
Well, we came to the studio armed with a cd of song ideas, and not much else. We talked to our teacher and made it clear from the beginning that neither of us had especially strong dancing genes, but we were ready to have a good time. Our teacher was great; she asked us questions about the dance moves that we did know; we also talked with her about how much ballroom we wanted to incorporate, and how much we felt like freestyling.
Well, long story short, she came up with something fantastic for us-taking our ideas, and giving them form. We put together a great surprise dance with a softer beginning, showing off a few classic (basic) ballroom steps, but-sure enough-breaking out a few hip-hop and latin moves in the second half. We even got some friends in on the act-our teacher's idea-so it was really a great experience all around.
I couldn't have asked for a better wedding dance experience; even if the "funky" wedding dance isn't your style, the teachers are fantastic about adapting to your preferences. I'd recommend this studio for wedding dance prep in a heartbeat.

Dear Emil,
Our wedding dance was a success. No one expected me to whirl my fiancee in a spectacular dance and follow with a cha-cha. The guests held their breaths as we danced. I felt so confident with all the practice that we had. Laura was very calm as well. When we broke into the cha-cha the crowd went ecstatic. Cheers and claps were everywhere. Our parents cried with joy. People told us that our dance was the highlight of the wedding. I am so glad I listened to Laura and signed up for lessons. We decided to continue our training with you. It's always great to whip a dance at a party to impress our friends. Thank you again. You truly helped us make our wedding fantastic.

Sincerely,
John and Laura

Dear Ruta,
Who would have thought that I could dance tango and only after a month of lessons? It was a surprise even for me. I was a little shaky just before the music started but I remembered the routine. Once the music started I felt better. Suddenly all talks stopped and we could hear the hush. When my daughter and I danced people stopped talking and watched in awe. We stole the show. The music worked great too. After the dance everyone gave us most raving reviews. Thank you so much for your patience and dedication.

Truly yours,
Boris

Dear Emil and Ruta,
Sam and Arielle did a fantastic job on my niece's wedding. All the training paid off. They entered the dance floor beautifully and danced with confidence. By the time they got to jive the crowd went wild. My niece said that it was the best present for her wedding and that she felt truly special. The kids were very proud that they did such a fabulous job. All of our relatives talked about their performance and their talent. The videographer made a copy for us so we can enjoy their moment of fame any time.
Thank you for your help and for the music too.

Sincerely,
Anna
